Quantum networks—capable of distributing quantum information and entanglement across nodes—are a central frontier in modern science, with applications in distributed quantum computing, long-distance quantum communication and quantum-enhanced metrology. Cold-atom systems, offering long coherence times and a rich toolbox for coherent control, are among the most promising platforms for building such networks. This talk will summarize our recent progress on the enabling technologies for a cold-atom quantum network, including the realization of high-efficiency quantum memory and high-efficiency coherent microwave-to-optical conversion.
