非物质文化遗产是人类生活文化的一部分,根据联合国教科文组织颁布的《保护非物质文化遗产公约》中的定义,
“非物质文化遗产”是指被各社区群体,有时为个人视为其文化遗产组成部分的各种社会实践、观念表达、表现形式、知
识、技能及相关的工具、实物、手工艺品和文化场所。这种非物质文化遗产世代相传,在各社区和群体适应周围环境以及
与自然和历史的互动中,被不断地再创造,为这些社区和群众提供持续的认同感,从而增强对文化多样性和人类创造力的
尊重。《公约》所定义的“非物质文化遗产”包括以下方面:1. 口头传统和表现形式,包括作为非物质文化遗产媒介的
语言;2. 表演艺术;3. 社会实践、仪式、节庆活动;4. 有关自然界和宇宙的知识和实践。
本课通过介绍和讲解世界各国非物质文化遗产的形态与特征,让听讲者了解和理解非物质文化遗产的价值和意义,并
通过对自身周围的非遗考察,了解人类的传承是如何连接过去与现代,并且展望未来的。本课程还将侧重对中国的非遗进
行详细的讲解,让听讲者能够理解非遗与自身生活的关系,强化对祖国文化的认同,进一步培养文化自觉和自信。
Intangible cultural heritage forms a part of everyday culture of human. According to the definition of UNESCO's
Convention for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage (the Convention), "intangible cultural heritage" refers to the
practices, representations, expressions, knowledge, skills – as well as the instruments, objects, artefacts and cultural
spaces associated therewith – that communities, groups and, in some cases, individuals recognize as part of their
cultural heritage. This intangible cultural heritage, transmitted from generation to generation, is constantly recreated by
communities and groups in response to their environment, their interaction with nature and their history, and provides
them with a sense of identity and continuity, thus promoting respect for cultural diversity and human creativity.
"Intangible cultural heritage" as defined by the Convention includes the following: 1. Oral traditions and expressions,
including language as a vehicle of the intangible cultural heritage; 2. Performing arts; 3. Social practices, rituals, and
festive events; 4. Knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe.
By introducing and explaining the forms and characteristics of intangible cultural heritage around the world, this
course enables the students to gain a thorough understanding of the value and significance of intangible cultural
heritage. Additionally, the students will grasp how human heritage connects the past with the present and looks into the
future through investigating intangible cultural heritage in their surroundings. Finally, this course will focus on delivering
a detailed explanation of China's intangible cultural heritage, which will allow the students to learn about the relationship
between intangible cultural heritage and their life, strengthen their identification with the culture of the motherland, and
further cultivate their cultural awareness and confidence.
