教学目标 Course Objectives
Specifically, this course aims to help the students:
The fundamental goal of the course is twofold. First, it is to introduce students to one of the sub-fields within the
discipline of Political Science—Comparative Politics. Second, it is to provide students with opportunities to apply
theoretical frameworks and concepts of Comparative Politics to comparing and studying different political systems. To
achieve this goal, the class will
1. Introduce major theoretical frameworks and concepts of Comparative Politics;
2. Explore major social, political, economic, and cultural factors that influence the functions of various political systems;
3. Examine how governments operate in several major countries in the world;
4. Shed some light on global trends of sociopolitical development.
这门课程的基本目标是双重的:首先,它向学生介绍政治学学科的一个子领域——比较政治学。第二,运用比较政治的理
论框架和概念,比较和研究不同的政治制度。具体说来,有以下几点:
1、介绍比较政治学的主要理论框架和概念;
2、探索影响各种政治制度功能的主要社会、政治、经济和文化因素;
3、考察世界上几个主要国家的政府是如何运作的;
4 阐明全球社会政治发展趋势。

预达学习成果 Learning Outcomes
In short, it is hoped that from this course, students will come away with not only a better understanding of politics
outside of China, but also with theoretical and conceptual frameworks that students can use to discuss and comprehend
similarities and differences among different types of political systems.
简而言之,希望这门课程的学习,学生不仅能更好地理解中国以外的政治,还能掌握一些理论和概念框架,以便学生讨论
和理解不同类型的政治制度之间的异同。
