Specifically, this course aims to help the students:
Understand Anthropology’s engagement with ethical life and related ethical concern and morality encountered
in social life.
理解人类学家如何研究伦理生活,以及道德和伦理在社会生活中的重要方面。
Develop comprehensive understanding of the role of ethical thought, experience, and practice in shaping
processes of social transformation.
理解与伦理相关的思想,经历和实践在社会发展进程中扮演什么样的角色。
Master theoretical tools provided by the emerging anthropology of ethics and morality for analyzing and
understanding social and ethical life in many societies in the contemporary world.

Upon completion of this course, students are expected to
Understand how culture shapes societies’ understandings of ethics and morality.
