教学目标 Course Objectives

Specifically, this course aims to help the students:

 Understand Anthropology’s engagement with ethical life and related ethical concern and morality encountered

in social life.

理解人类学家如何研究伦理生活，以及道德和伦理在社会生活中的重要方面。

 Develop comprehensive understanding of the role of ethical thought, experience, and practice in shaping

processes of social transformation.

理解与伦理相关的思想，经历和实践在社会发展进程中扮演什么样的角色。

 Master theoretical tools provided by the emerging anthropology of ethics and morality for analyzing and

understanding social and ethical life in many societies in the contemporary world.

 学会用人类学中关于伦理和道德的理论去分析和理解现代不同社会的人类生活。

Upon completion of this course, students are expected to

 Understand how culture shapes societies’ understandings of ethics and morality.

掌握文化是如何影响社会对道德和伦理的理解。

 Comprehend how cultural, social, political, and historical aspects of ethics and morality are lined and

interrelated.

 Apply theoretical concepts to specific domains, situations, or contexts of social life.

 Be able to discuss issues concerning human moral capacities and selfhood, their expression in social life, so

that they can better comprehend how ethics and morality are formed and contested in situations of social

change and in a globalizing world.
