计、语言与认知。本课程将着重介绍文化人类学的基本概念、理论、主题和目前关注热点,通过课堂讲授、小组讨论、经
典名著阅读和民族志电影观看等多种形式开展教学。
The goal of cultural anthropology is to describe, analyze and explain similarities and differences among human cultures
and to show how groups adapt to their environments and invest their lives with meaning. Since the discipline’s inception,
anthropologists have dedicated themselves to exploring human societies in all of their diversity: the distinct cultures,
politics, economies, and environments by which people have given shape to different ways of living, working, speaking,
and understanding. This course offers an introduction to the basic concepts, ideas, issues, and debates in cultural
anthropology through lectures, section discussion, readings and ethnographic films.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- become acquainted with the basic framework, fundamental concepts and research areas of cultural anthropology;
- learn more about cultural diversity in human societies;
- critically examine the multiplicity and complexity of human societies through reading, discussion and writing.
