教学目标 Course Objectives
通过讲述清末洋务运动以来中国发生的四次工业化与社会变革，分析中国工业化进程与社会变革之间的相互作用、所涉及
的重要因素，引导学生从新角度和新史料深入认识中国近现代历史。This course explores chronologically the main
events of China’s industrialization and social changes since the Self-Strengthening Movement at the end of Qing
Dynasty, with comprehensive discussions about their relationships and influences. Students are guided to learn the
history of modern China from new perspectives and new archives.

预达学习成果 Learning Outcomes
1、明确清末洋务运动开启的中国早期工业化、民国时期的工业化、新中国时期的工业化和改革开放的工业化，了解这些
阶段的重要企业和重要人物。
2、明确四次工业化进程所引发的社会变革，着重把握新兴城市（铁路枢纽城市、工矿资源城市）、社会人口流动、农民
身份改变和社会思潮变化。
3、 明确工业化进程与社会变革之间的相互作用、所涉及的重要因素，特别是城乡结构变化与新型工人阶级队伍。
1. Identify four major events of China’s industrialization in different time periods from the Self-Strengthening Movement in
late Qing moving to the era of economic reform in late 20
th
century, and get familiarize with some influential enterprises
and people during those time periods.
2. Examine the social Changs impacted by the four major events of China’s industrialization, focusing on new developing
cities (railway cities and mine-based cities), migrations, changes in farmers’ social status, and social trends of thought.
3. Identify the key components and connections between China’s industrialization events and social changes, with
highlights on changing urban-rural structure and new working class.
