教学目标 Course Objectives
本课程期望以具体作品放映、赏析与细读的方式,了解主流戏剧艺术的基本知识、以及相关的美学、文学史、艺术
史。通过学习本课程,使学生深入理解基本的经典戏剧作品,以及相关的戏剧艺术史、社会史和物质条件史。使学生一方
面学会以心灵和直觉欣赏戏剧艺术、一方面学会以理性和批判思维分析、批评这些作品。授课材料来自古希腊戏剧、莎士
比亚、莫里哀、易卜生、尤金奥尼尔、贝克特等经典戏剧作品的当代排演。通过对这些经典的戏剧社会和历史背景的介
绍,使学习者在体会这些传统戏剧魅力的同时,了解它们如何对人类心灵、人性和社会现实塑造和影响方式的机制,了解
它们如何通过影响包括影视、游戏等门类在内的大众文化,如何影响我们的时代和生活。戏剧在各文明的核心文本中占有
重要的位置。是了解、理解博雅教育,包括文学、历史、哲学等基本人类文明符码的基石和阶梯,也是了解、理解和应用
近代各类社会科学、软科学,比如人类学、社会学、经济学、政治学等等的阶梯和辅助。经典的戏剧作品、以独特的、直
接的方式、反映、描绘、甚至塑造着各个时代和地域里人类社会中从个体心灵到集体意志最核心、最神秘的方面。
Students are expected to learn the basic knowledge of theatre in an approach of screening, on site visiting of
conventional theatre works. By studying this course, students will gain an in-depth understanding of the basic structure of
theatre art, as well as the related history of dramatic art, its social history, and its material condition. The works come
from the contemporary staging of classic texts ranging from ancient Greek drama, Shakespeare, Moliere, Ibsen, Eugene
O'Neill, Beckett, etc.
Classic drama texts as literature occupies an important position in the cannons of various civilizations. It is the
cornerstones and ladders to understand basic codes of human civilizations, such as literature, history, philosophy. Also it
plays an very important role to understand social sciences such as anthropology, sociology, economics, politics, etc.
Classic dramatic texts and their stage rendering, from ancient Greece to Shakespeare, from Peony Pavilion to Ibsen,
from Cao Yu to Beckett, reflect, depict, and even shape human society in all eras and regions in a unique and direct way.
It shapes our individual mind as well as the mysterious aspect of collective will. This course intends to let the students
understand the basic history of dramatic literature through detailed textual reading and analyzing. The introduction of the
social and historical background of drama texts enables learners to understand the charm of these works while
understanding the mechanism of how they shape and influence the human mind, human nature, and social reality, and

how they affect the popular culture, including film, tv and games, thus accordingly affects our times and life.

通过观赏所有课程列出的经典戏剧作品,经过教师讲解,深刻理解这些作品的情节、角色、结构、主旨、风格。能够对它
们的艺术特色、美学特质有基本的认识和分析能力。能够获得对戏剧艺术的基本鉴赏力。
Students are expected to understand the plots, roles, structure, themes, and style of the classic theatre works listed in
the course syllabus by extensive analysis. Students are expected to gain the profound understanding to their artistic and
aesthetic characteristics. Students are expected to gain the ability to conduct basic appreciation of plays, both as
literature and as art.
