教学大纲及教学日历 SYLLABUS
15. 教学目标 Course Objectives
This course targets language skills and cultural awareness needed for students to succeed as they prepare for study
abroad, and when they are in the other culture.
By targeting specific language skills and developing them with deliberate practice, students can build proficiency in
social interactions prior to departing on study abroad.
Cultural development is equally important for the course and influences the language activities. Students will learn wider
theory on culture and develop practical strategies for specific situations. A problem-solution approach will be used when
examining topics, with the aim of understanding the underlying cultural expectations on both sides that create conflict.
By the end of this course, students will be aware of potential conflict, become proficient in a variety of cross-cultural
situations, and produce specific works relevant to their study abroad preparation needs.
