教学目标 Course Objectives
本课程旨在帮助学生熟悉四级考试中的各类题型，掌握四级考试大纲词汇及四级考试应试技巧，并能够将所学到的应试技
巧在实际考试中加以运用，有效提高自身的英语水平和四级成绩。本课程将采用教师讲解和课堂练习相结合的方式。学生
们通过本课程的学习，能够熟悉四级考试题型及流程，掌握四级考试核心词汇，并能在写作、翻译中熟练运词汇及语法。
从而有效提高四级考试的成绩。
CET-4 is a norm-referenced test which is designed to evaluate college students’ English proficiency accurately and
objectively. It focuses on testing overall abilities, including writing, listening, reading and translating skills. This course
aims to help students to improve their performance in CET-4 exam. Consequently, it introduces four major modules of
CET-4 and some listening & reading strategies, such as note-taking, skinning & skimming, identifying main idea &
specific information and guessing word meaning. Besides, students are supposed to master vocabularies required in the
syllabus and use grammar appropriately in their writing. The course will also provide students with necessary knowledge
and skills for continued improvement after the course ends.

学生在完成本课程的学习后，应熟练掌握英语四级考试大纲要求的词汇，能正确运用所学词汇、语法完成英语写作；能
掌握听力材料中的大意及细节；能在规定时间内读完所给阅读材料，以及能运用翻译技巧进行中英翻译。
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Master vocabularies included in the CET-4 syllabus
Use words, phrases & grammar appropriately and develop the writing logically
Express a particular meaning in different grammatical forms
Use listening strategies to grasp main idea, key words and specific information
Master scanning and skimming skills to locate specific information
Deduce the meaning of an unknown word from context
Comprehend the main idea of the reading material and make an inference
Grasp translation strategies and translate the source text into target faithfully and smoothly
