On completion of the 32 hour TOEFL Listening & Speaking Course, students will:
GENERAL:
• Be familiar with all parts of the TOEFL test
• Obtain and make use of some useful tips to help achieve personal TOEFL goals
• Understand how the TOEFL test is assessed
• Have written and spoken English assessed by other learners
• Complete practice tests to enhance confidence in taking the TOEFL test
• Relate learned material in a confident manner
• Solve problems by applying acquired knowledge, facts, techniques and rules in a different way.
• Identify areas of individual strengths and weakness
LISTENING:
• Enhance accent awareness
• Make inferences
• Recognize indirect delivery of information (inference)
• Improve confidence using key language in an English conversation
• Respond to and generate questions to provide/elicit clarification
• Identify main ideas and some key details of simple and complex speech on concrete and abstract topics; will be
able to comprehend in detail what is said in standard spoken language.
• Identify details pertaining to the relationship between speakers, the gist of speaker’s opinion/the main topic of an
announcement.
SPEAKING:
