教学目标 Course Objectives
The course will help students to:
•
Understand the major theories of contemporary translation studies and major issues in translation history
• Differentiate type of texts, language and strategies for scientific and technical translation
•
Develop a basic proficiency in written scientific and technical translation from English into Chinese and from Chinese
to English
•
Become skilled in clear expression and sensitive to stylistic issues

预达学习成果 Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
•
Identify the problems and difficulties in the translation of texts in science and technology;
• Demonstrate an understanding of the stylistic differences between the language of science and technology and the
language of literature;
• Translate scientific and technical complex texts within familiar subject domains between English and Chinese, with
the use of dictionaries.
